Wright County Supervisors set date for budget hearing.

 At their meeting Monday, the Wright County Supervisors set the date of Monday,March 3 for a public hearing on the county budget for 2014-15. The hearing will be at 10:00 in the supervisors board room. Residents of the county are welcome to learn more about the budget year ahead and to ask questions and comments.

The Wright County Supervisors will have a public hearing on the transit building project at 9:30 on February 26. Bids for the project will be open on March 25 at 2:00 p.m. with the winning bid to be approved the following day on March 26.

The future renovation of the Wright County Courthouse was another topic of discussion by the Wright County supervisors. Maintenance director Andy Yackle discussed committing money on an annual basis for a remodeling project in the district courtroom.In 2016, the current courtroom will be 125 years old.The plan is to put the court room back to its original condition. There are plans to hire an architect in the next few months to work on the courtoom project.

Officials with the city of Eagle Grove met with supervisors to look at the annexation of certain properties on the south side of the community including Lyle's Ford, Bomgaards and Dollar General. The county agreed to a program to annex the land in cooperation with the city.
