Webster City Hotel Motel Tax Board reviews grant applications.

 The Webster City Hotel Motel Tax Board Tuesday afternoon reviewed a total  of seven applications for funding of projects and activities with the use of city Hotel Motel Tax funds. The requests came from:

Art in Boone River Country for the annual sculpture event at West Twin Park in the amount of $5,500.

HERO-Help Entertain and Restore Organization for Saving the Webster Theater in the amount of $11,500.

Keep Iowa Beautiful Local Committee for a conference set for next year in the amount of $1,000 at Fuller Hall.

Kendall Young Library for digitial archives of the Daily Freeman Journal from 1923 to 2011 in the amount of $10,000.

Rampage Football team for the 2014 season in the amount of $5,235.

Webster City Community Theatre for $5,543 for the local performance arts center and its activities.

Wilson Brewer Historic Park Committee for $15,476 for the Willson Brewer Historic Park Information Center. The same committee also sent a request of $17,809 for a LED sign next to the Depot Museum.

Representatives of these organizations will make a presentation before the Webster City Hotel Motel Tax Board Thursday evening, December 5 at 6:30 explaining about their projects. It will be up to the board to make a final decision and present it to the Webster City City Council at their December 16 meeting
