Webster City Fire Department summoned to a couch fire Tuesday evening.

The Webster City Fire Department were called to the Tony Asklund residence,910 James Street at about 7:47 Tuesday evening. When fire trucks arrived on the scene, smoke was coming from the front door. The owned reportedly extinguished the flames with a garden hose. A ventilator was used to clear the smoke from the home. The fire originated from a couch in the front room of the residence. No further damage was reported and no injuries. Webster City firemen said the cause is undetermined and was suspicious in nature.Local firemen remained on the scene for over an hour.
