Webster City City Council to meet this Monday evening.

 The Webster City City Council will meet Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the city council chambers. The council agenda will include the second reading on a proposed ordinance providing for the division of taxes levied on taxable property in the 2013 addition to the Red Bull Division Urban Renewal Area and Webster City Residential Urban Renewal Area B.There will be a resolution authorizing the approval of applications for the Webster City Revitalization Plan involving a tax abatement at 712 High Street and 522 North White Fox Road. In other matters the council will consider a resolution approving an executed warranty deed conveying city owned property in lot 12 of the Brewer Creek Estates Third Addition to Daniel Willard and Diane Powers Willard, a resolution authorizing the mayor and city clerk to enter into an agreement with Asplundh Tree Expert Company of Urbandale providing for electric line clearance tree trimming, make a motion on roof repair on a building at 1700 West Second Street and make a motion on a proposal from Binswanger on economic development. A public hearing is set for 7:15 p.m. for the proposed amending of two chapters as it relates to a new definition and allowable use for churches in a C-2 (Central Business) District.

Over the past few days,a Facebook page has been created to help save the Fuhs Pastry building downtown. The bakery has been in business since 1970. According to the page it is stating that the city is trying to force Fuhs to fix the "eyesore" wall that does not belong to them. If they can't fix this wall, they will be force to close". The wall is located on the east side of the building and has been deterioriating in recent years and poses as a safety concern,according to city officials. As of early this morning there are 1,558 likes on the page. The page is asking residents to attend Monday's council meeting to show support for the local bakery. Discussion on the wall will not be on the agenda with no action to be taken by the council.
