USPS:Saturday mail delivery to end by August
Posted: Feb 06 2013 by ppowers

The U.S. Postal Service will be announcing today that there will be no more delivery of first class mail on Saturday.  It means that customers will not be receiving letters, bills, cards and catalogs on Saturday but packages, mail-order medicine and express mail will continue to be delivered. Last month, the U.S.P.S. board of governors directed management to accelerate the restructuring of postal service operations in the face of declining revenues. The move is expected to save the Postal Service about $2 billion annually as it wrestles  with the rising popularity of e-mail and social media plus the climbing costs of providing health benefits to its workers.
