The second in the series of Summer Night events will be held this Friday,July 5 from 6:00 until 11:00 p.m in downtown Webster City. The evening will feature a number of special events from 6:00 until 11:00 p.m. Second Street from Willson Avenue to Prospect Street will be closed with many fun activities scheduled. Live music will be provided by Adam Lee of Omaha from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Lee is a singer/songwriter born in Stillwater, Oklahoma who grew up in Ogden,Utah. For the past 10 years, Adam has honed a jovial persona with strong audience interaction through performances across the Great Plains, Southern and Midwestern United States. He plays original songs, and covers of James Taylor, Queen, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson,Bob Dylan and more. The appearance of Adam Lee is made possible by First State Bank.
Webster City Custom Meats and the Boy Scouts will be selling light meal with all proceeds to support the Boy Scouts and their many activities.
The Jimmy Cagney classic, "Yankee Doodle Dandy" will be shown at dusk in the First American Bank Stark Plaza at dusk. The movie is about the life of George M. Cohan. There will be plenty of dancing and singing in this 1942 classic.
Another highlight of the evening will be the Farmer's Market at City Hall Plaza. Wilson Brewer Park complex volunteers will be bringing in various skins for kids to touch and experience plus the Pioneer Costumes for the kids to try on. There will also be appearances by the Singing Nuns, Tastefully Simple samples, Paparazzi Jewelry, Kendall Young Library, Mary Kaye sampling,Race Cars,Doodlebugs and Vintage Cars. The evening will feature a presentation by the Dance Connection,a hula hoop contest sponsored by WC to DC, a Comfort Zone set up by Webster City Federal and manned by RSVP volunteers and much more.
