Snowy day in Webster City and north central Iowa

 Residents of north central Iowa will begin the task of digging out from the snow of Thursday night and Friday. A WINTER STORM WARNING remains in effect until 12 noon today for the KQWC listening area. The storm dumped upward to 6 inches of snow in Webster City as of 7 Friday morning. The snow is expected to let up by mid day today with an additional inch possible. The weather of today forced the cancellation of classes in Webster City, St. Thomas Aquinas,Stratford,Clarion Goldfield, Dows, Eagle Grove, and Belmond Klemme. Classes have been delayed for two hours at Roland Story and South Hamilton. Webster City Head Start is closed. Friends Forever Social Education Center is closed for the day.  Once the snow exits we should be for a quiet weekend in the weather department. Another chance of snow is likely for Sunday night and for Monday.
