Posted: Feb 13 2014 by ppowers

Students in grades 9th-12th grade are invited to participate in the Hit Me With Your Best Shot-High School Dodgeball Tournament sponsored by SHIFT (Students Helping Impact Future Teens) Happens. The event will be held Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Jeff Gym in Webster City. Registration starts at 6:30pm, and the event starts at 7pm. Teams of 8-10 members are welcome to register, and registration is only $5 per participant.

Any 9th-12th grade student in Hamilton County is invited to pick a team, choose your theme, dress it up, and participate in this fun, substance free event.  Community members may support their local high school students by coming to the tournament, sponsoring a team, donating door prizes, or donating to Help Entertain and Restore Organization, HERO, in the free-will donation box that will be available that evening.  All funds raised during the event will go toward HERO, and their efforts to Save the Webster Theatre.

SHIFT Happens is focused on making an IMPACT in the community to help teens be Above the Influence. Their efforts have been assisted by a school sponsor, Community & Family Resources, and the Bee Inspired CAPP Program through Building Families. SHIFT Happens has held several events in the past few years to increase the awareness in the community on substance abuse prevention and education.

Questions?  Want to know how to register? Call Tiffany Larson at 515.602.6371 or email tlarson@co.wright.ia.us.  Registration forms will be made available Friday 2/14/14 in school offices.
