Schluttenhofer elected as Wright County Sheriff.

A Wright County deputy will become sheriff after a special election on Tuesday. Jason Schluttenhofer was elected to fill the remaining term of Paul Schultz who retired on February 22 after 13 years on the job. In unofficial returns, Schluttenhofer received 865 votes as the Republican candidate for sheriff while independent candidate Jim Lester received 554 votes. Since Schultz retired in February,Wright County jail administrator John Mandal has served as interim sheriff. A total of 1,423 votes were cast in Tuesday's special election. Schluttenhofer will be sworn in on Monday during a meeting of the Wright County Board of Supervisors. The term expires December 31,2016.
