Jason Schlutenhofer of Clarion was selected by Wright County Republicans to be their candidate for the April 16th Sheriff's election. A convention was held Saturday at the Wright County Courthouse attended by GOP members. Those attending had the chance to choose between Schlutenhofer and Jim Lester also of Clarion. Lester has announced he will begin a petition drive to get his name on the ballot as an Independent candidate for Sheriff. At this time there has been no word by Wright County Democrats if they have a candidate selected for next month's election. The winner of the April 16th election will take over the position held by Paul Schultz who retired as Wright County Sheriff on February 22.
