Posted: Nov 13 2013 by ppowers

Residents of Randall could be seeing an increase in the water rates sometime next year. On Tuesday night, the Randall City Council members looked at three proposals for the increase. The first proposal would increase the base rate for water to $22 for 1200 gallons and additional water at 70 cents per 100 gallons over the minimum. The second proposal would increase the base rate for water to $22 for 1200 gallons and additional water at 90 cents per 100 gallons over the minimum. The third proposal would increase the base rate for water to $25 for 2000 gallons and additional water at 80 cents per 100 gallons over the minimum. The reason for the increase is for the water utility to cover their costs of operation. The discussion will continue at the December council meeting.

A public hearing was set for the December 10th council meeting for the intention to issue revenue bonds for the city of Randall. The council also approved a snow removal contract with Jensen Excavating for the 2013-14 winter season.

The Randall city council set the date of Monday,January 13 at 6:30 p.m. at city hall to inform residents on the plans and costs for building a new fire station to be located north of the gymnasium.

In one other matter, the council met with Jane Adams of the Hamilton County Youth and Family Center. Adams presented an overview of the center's services. She request an amount of $560 for funding for the 2015 fiscal year. The council will include $600 in the budget.
