Opening statements to begin Wednesday in Trott trial in Clarion.

 Opening statements will be made Wednesday in the first degree murder trial of 33 year old Corey Trott in Wright County District Court in Clarion. On Tuesday 14 people were selected out of 100 potential jurors to hear the testimony from law officers,criminologists and others surrounding the shooting death of Rockwell City Police officer Jamie Buenting during a standoff at Trott's home on September 13,2013. Trott pleaded not guilty to the charge filed against him. The trial was moved to Wright County from Calhoun County due to pretrial publicity. District Judge Thomas Bice is presiding over the trial that is expected to last for a week.
