Northeast Hamilton School Board makes a proposal to the district's Education Association

 The Northeast Hamilton Community School Board late Monday afternoon came back with their counter proposal to the members of the Northeast Hamilton Education Association for their 2013-14 contract. The board proposed that the Generator Base salary be changed from $25,325 to $25,400 which is an increase of $75. The longegity pay would be left at $1,000. The proposed Supplemental Pay Generator Base would remain at $24,050. It was also proposed to change High School Vocal to Vocal Music and change the percent from 11% to 3%. The board members would review all supplemental positions, percentages and update accordingly. The total package increase would be at $17,181 or a 1.60% increase. With an estimated health insurance increase of 10%, the total package increase would be $27,629 or approximately 2.57%. Superintendent Pat Hocking informed association members that the district has not been informed of the cost of insurance premiums for the following year. The proposal for health insurance coverage is contained in the initial proposal and our total package costs are figured with a 0% increase in insurance

As for staff reductions, the board is proposing to agree to the language presented by the Northeast Hamilton Education Association. There was a proposal by the Northeast Hamilton district to discuss the possibility of adding an additional 1 to 2 Professional Development days to the contract starting in 2013-14. The board also proposed that the Northeast Hamilton district would want to stay with the current contract in regards to exchanging sick leaves for personnel days.

Both the Northeast Hamilton School Board and the Education Association will meet in closed session over the next few weeks to work out a new agreeement.
