Northeast Hamilton D.A.R.E. graduation held Wednesday afternoon.

Eleven fifth grade students received their certificates Wednesday afternoon for successfully completing the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program at Northeast Hamilton in Blairsburg. Hamilton County Sheriff's Deputy Paul Whitmore served as the instructor of the course that teaches the students to make right choices in their lives and saying no to drugs,alcohol, tobacco and violence. Featured speakers were three student athletes from Iowa State University including Knute Severson of the Cyclone football team. The fifth graders honored with their D.A.R.E. certificates were Makyenzie Dilley, Brooke Gordon, J.J. Lanken, Bradley Maikhio, Danielle Moon, Jordin Pigsley, Makiah Ricke, Adalie Schwandt, Sheldon Tapper, Therese Traster and Alex Utrera.
