New era for the Wright County Supervisors.

 With the start of a brand new year, there are changes for the Wright County Supervisors. Wednesday's meeting was the first one  in which there are three people serving as on board of supervisors instead of five. Stan Watne was named as the Supervisor Chairman for 2013. Carl Helgevold of Eagle Grove was elected as Chairman Pro-Tem with Rick Rasmussen of Goldfield administered the oath of office. The supervisors administered the oath office to County Auditor Betty Ellis and Sheriff Paul Schultz. Schultz will be retiring as Wright County Sheriff after serving the last 12 years. There are plans to appoint a Sheriff once Schultz retires. An election for Wright County Sheriff will be held sometime this spring.

The Wright County Supervisors approved the names of individuals to serve on boards and commissions for 2013.Resolutions for attendance at meetings,payment of claims prior to a board meeting, depositories for county funds and the master matrix were approved. Preparation for working on the budget was a part of the Wednesday meeting. There will be further budget talks in the coming weeks.
