Jewell motorist fatally injured in a Saturday morning accident near Radcliffe.

 A 17 year old Jewell motorist was killed Saturday morning as the result of a car semi accident a half mile west of Radcliffe on Highway 175. The Iowa State Patrol identified the victim as Braden M. Wicks.. Reportedly an eastbound 2004 Chevrolet Impala driven by Wicks  crossed the centerline when the car was struck by a westbound 2012 Kenworth semi tractor driven by Floyd E. Wiley of Zearing. Wicks was pronounced dead at the scene. Wiley suffered non life threatening injuries.in the accident. The accident remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol and the Hardin County Sheriff's Department. 

Wicks was a student at South Hamilton High School. On Saturday afternoon, counselors met with students,parents and staff members to talk about Wicks. The afternoon matinee of "Beauty and the Beast' was cancelled however the evening performance went on as scheduled. Funeral services for Wicks are pending as of Sunday morning.
