Hamilton County Sheriff's Department receives Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau grant.

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office has been working with a grant from the Governor's Traffic Safety Bureau on a crackdown to reduce impaired drivers. During the overtime grant hours and regular duty hours the deputies stopped, 1,532 drivers. There were 63 charged with Operating While Impaired while 129 drivers cited for driving while revoked, suspended or without a license. The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will be starting a new grant in October with a continued effort to remove impaired drivers for our highways to make them safer for everyone.
