Hamilton County Public Health inviting the community to an open house April 2.

 The Hamilton County Board of Health Thursday afternoon looked at plans for the open house at the new location of Hamilton County Public Health. The date of April 4 from 2 until 7 p.m. will be the date and time for the open house at 820 James Street. For the past three months,the Public Health staff has been getting used to their new headquarters after spending many years at their previous location on Seneca Street.There will be tours of the different offices plus refreshments will be served.

The board of health announced plans to submit a grant to Elderbridge for eight projects. They include Homemaker, Home Care Aide, Respite Care,Reassurance Visits, Phone Calls to the elderly, Medicaid Management and outreach for cost management. The grant will be submitted in the next week.

Director Shelby Kroona informed the board that the health department will be applying for a Local Public Health Incentive for $800 that will  be tied to Environmental Services provided by public health.
