Fort Dodge Police investigating hit and run personal injury accident.

 Fort Dodge Police responded to a report of an accident involving a motor vehicle and a child on a bicycle at the intersection of Second Avenue North and North 12th Street at about 7:45 Tuesday morning. Upon arrival the officer found an 11 year old boy laying in the grass area near the  sidewalk. The investigating officer learned that the vehicle that had struck the young man had left the scene westbound on Second Avenue North. Other assisting officers checked the area but they did not locate the suspect vehicle. The vehicle is described as a newer model full size 4 door truck, red in color. The truck has the emblem "4X4 on the side of it. The truck was pulling a small flat utility trailer. The trailer did not have anything on it at the time of the accident. No license plate information was available. The injured child was transported to Trinity Regional Medical Center by ambulance and was treated for his injuries and released. His injuries were not considered to be life threatening. The Fort Dodge Police were assisted by the Fort Dodge Fire Department and Trinity Regional Ambulance Service.
