Eagle Grove School Board to hold a town meeting on activities conference placement.

 The Eagle Grove Community School Board this Tuesday evening will hold a community meeting regarding Activities Conference placement on Tuesday, February 19 at 7:00 p.m. Eagle Grove has been a member of the North Central Conference for over 90 years. The board is looking at the possibility of joining the North Iowa Conference. Clarion Goldfield is also exploring the possibility of becoming a North Iowa Conferenc member. Bishop Garrigan of Algona will join the North Iowa Conference in 2014. The Eagle Grove school board will make a decision on the activities conference issue at their March board meeting.This meeting will be held at the Robert Blue Middle School Auditorium.

In other matters the Eagle Grove school board met with Matt Gillaspie with Piper Jaffray on the results of the bond sale. Gillaspie said that the total savings to the district will be at $573,995. The Eagle Grove school board adopted a resolution directing the sale of $3,810,000 in General Obligation School Refunding Bonds to the winning bidder, UMB Bank of Kansas City,Missouri.

The board also received an update from Robert Blue Middle School teachers Amanda Johnston, Leslie Wenzel, Mary Ann Smith and Sarah Teeselink along with Principal Scott Jeske on how they are meeting district goals to assure that all students are successful in the classroom.
