Convention for Hamilton County Democrats and Republicans held this past weekend.

 Hamilton County Republicans and Democrats held their party conventions on Saturday. For the Democrats, Heather Kierzak was named the county chairperson for 2014 succeeding Steven Duffy. Michelle Walters was named Democratic county vice chairperson, Jo Fletchall as secretary and Ron Adams as party treasurer. There were four delegates selected to attend the Democratic district and state conventions to be held later this spring. Saturday's convention was held at the Webster City High School cafeteria.

The Hamilton County Republicans elected 11 delegates with 11 alternates to attend the district GOP convention in Storm Lake on April 26.State Representative Rob Bacon was in attendance at the Hamilton County Republican convention to announce his plans to seek another term to the Iowa House of Representatives this fall. Hamilton County Recorder Kim Anderson also announced her plans to seek another term to her office. Joanie Hilpipre has announced she will be the Republican candidate for Hamilton County Treasurer this fall. Hamilton County Supervisor David Young is expected to run again this year for the third district position which includes the southern part of the county.42 people attended Saturday's convention at the Webster City Community Theater.
