Bergeson named Scoutmaster of the Year

Dave Bergeson was honored Sunday night at the Broken Arrow District's annual Recognition Dinner held in Ames as he was named Scoutmaster of the Year for his outstanding service to the youth of Webster City's Boy Scout Troop 17. He was also recognized for his service to Iowa's Broken Arrow District for the Boy Scouts. Bergeson has served as Scoutmaster for Webster City's Troop 17 for the past three years. Prior to taking on this role, he was Cubmaster for Packs 585 and 583 for over a decade. Membership numbers are at an all time high for Troop 17 and the troop has had three young men who have earned their Eagle Scout awards in the past year alone. The Eagle Scout award is the highest award achievable in the scouting organization. The Mid Iowa Council's Broken Arrow District encompasses troops in 23 cities.
