Adams will not run for another term on the Webster City City Council.

 There will be a new mayor for Webster City come January. KQWC has learned that Janet Adams will not seek another term to the Webster City City Council. Adams will be stepping down from the council after serving three terms in office plus mayor of the community for the last four years. A long time Webster City resident, Adams has been involved in many community projects such as the Webster City Pride Committee,Youth and Family Center Board Director, Hamilton County League of Women Voters President, a member of the Iowa House of Representatives and longtime elementary teacher in the Webster City Community Schools. There will be three seats up for election in the November 5 council race. The other terms expiring on the Webster City City Council belong to current council members Linda Conaway and Jerry Kloberdanz.  Nomination papers for the council are now available at city hall with the filing deadline Thursday, September 19 at 5:00 p.m. The election day for the City Council is Tuesday,November 5.
