A slight drop in the Hamilton County unemployment rate.

 The July unemployment rate for Hamilton County dropped slightly. The Iowa Workforce Development office reported the rate was at 5.6 percent down from the June figure of 5.7 percent.There were 6,380 people employed across the county while 380 people were without work in July. Iowa's unemployment rate for July was at 4.8 percent up from the June rate of 4.6 percent. The unemployment rates for surrounding counties showed Boone County at 4.0 percent, Franklin County at 4.2 percent, Hardin County at 4.8 percent, Story County at 4.3 percent,Webster County at 6.1 percent and Wright County at 4.3 percent.
